Steps to Getting an Animal Shelter on the Bond
UPDATE – June 21, 2022 a city official emailed Frisco’s Pet Project and said, “an animal center would be presented to the committee.” Then, September 30, 2022 a city official emailed saying, the city staff said would not be presenting an animal center to the committee. Does this upset you? If so, email bondcommittee@friscotexas.gov.
For some this may be the first you are hearing of a 2023 Bond. Not us! We have been waiting for this for years!
For over five years, Frisco Leaders have been telling residents that a Bond is the only way a Municipal Animal Shelter will be a part of Frisco’s expansion plans. The good news is that all bonds are decided by YOU, the citizens of Frisco, which means, we now need your help more than ever. A shelter won’t be on the Frisco Bond without your help. Here is the 1st Step.
Step 1 – Email or call Frisco Animal Services and the department they report to, the Frisco Police Department, and let them know that an animal shelter is important to the community and to please recommend a municipal animal shelter on the 2023 Bond.
From our understanding, the Department needs to include this in their request to the City Manager for consideration to be given. Write today and do not delay. https://www.friscotexas.gov/131/Animal-Services and https://www.friscotexas.gov/239/Police.
